PETERBOROUGH, Ont. -- Two people are missing following a canoeing accident north of Peterborough, Ont.
Kawartha Lakes OPP say emergency services personnel responded Sunday evening to a report of missing canoeists on Pigeon Lake.
Three people had set out at about 5 p.m. to retrieve a pedal boat that had drifted from shore.
The canoe capsized and only one person made it back to shore.
None of the canoe occupants was wearing a lifejacket.
A 28-year-old woman from Halton and a 23-year-old man from Toronto are missing.
The search for them continues.
