A 19-year-old Toronto man is facing a number of charges in connection with a strip club shooting that sent another man to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police previously said the incident last month in Mississauga appeared to be a robbery.

Police say a 28-year-old Mississauga man was leaving the Midway Invader Club at approximately 2:15 a.m. on Dec. 13, 2014 when he was approached by several men.

An altercation ensued and police say the victim was shot. He was rushed to hospital, where his condition was later upgraded to stable.

Police say the suspects fled the scene in two separate vehicles.

On Wednesday, one of the suspects was arrested and appeared in court for a bail hearing. Khalil Bell-Carter is facing a number of charges including attempted murder, robbery and careless use of a firearm.

Police say they are still looking for three other suspects.

They are described as dark-skinned males. Police say the first suspect has a slim build, is under 6’0 tall and was last seen wearing white pants and a dark jacket. The second suspect has a medium build, has corn-rows and a chinstrap beard, and was last seen wearing a black jacket and a light-coloured shirt and jeans.

The third suspect was last seen wearing a dark-coloured hoodie with a white design on the front and dark pants.

Police released a security surveillance video last month showing the suspects wanted in connection with the shooting.
