TORONTO - Dwayne De Rosario was absent at practice as trade rumours swirled about the Toronto FC captain.

Toronto head coach Aron Winter said while De Rosario was not at practice, he was still a member of the MLS team.

For how long remains the question.

Winter confirmed Toronto has been checking out trade options but said nothing had been completed yet.

The 32-year-old attacking midfielder has been upset at his salary for some time, celebrating one goal last season by pretending to sign a cheque.

De Rosario made US$443,750 last season. In contrast, designated player Julian de Guzman made $1.7 million.
