WOODVILLE, Ont. - A teenage boy is charged with the aggravated sexual assault and confinement of a four-year-old girl near Peterborough.
Last month, provincial police in Kawartha Lakes issued a public appeal for help after the girl was taken from a washroom at Woodville Arena, east of Lake Simcoe.
She had been found in a nearby field suffering from serious injuries.
A 17-year-old boy, who cannot legally be identified, is charged with aggravated assault, aggravated sexual assault, forcible confinement, and abduction.
The youth is in custody and is to appear in a Lindsay, Ont. court on Thursday.
The court has issued a publication ban in relation to the proceedings and police can't release any further information.
