An 18-year-old is facing nearly a dozen criminal charges after a man was shot in the leg over the weekend.

Toronto police are still looking for a 17-year old male they believe is a "person of interest" in the case.

The jailed teen turned himself in after a violent altercation Friday night in the Victoria Park and O'Connor Drive neighbourhood.

Police say a fight between a group of men got out of hand when a 31-year-old was shot in the leg. The suspects fled on foot and in a getaway car. The car was found a short time later nearby.

Tennyson Fields, a Toronto-area resident, appeared in court on the weekend. He is charged with:

  • Robbery,
  • Aggravated assault
  • Wounding a person
  • Using a gun to commit a crime,
  • Possessing a dangerous weapon,
  • Assault with a weapon,
  • Pointing a firearm,
  • Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition,
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm,
  • Possession of prohibited weapon obtained by crime,
  • Careless use of a firearm
