Emergency crews are working to extinguish a two-alarm fire at a lowrise apartment building in Toronto’s northwest end.

Toronto Fire Services told CP24 they were called to the scene at 365 Westmount Ave. around 4:05 p.m. Several people had been evacuated from the second and third floors of the building. Firefighters also took seven people out of the building through third-floor windows.

Officials say they are not certain where the fire originated, but believe it may have started on the second floor.

Toronto EMS said three people have been taken to hospital, and three others were treated for minor injuries on site.

Westmount Avenue, between Rosecliffe Avenue and Rogers Road, is closed to traffic.
