TORONTO - Six people from Ontario are facing fraud charges after a lengthy RCMP investigation.
The investigation was launched in 2006 following a complaint over an alleged fraudulent investment scheme by Toronto-based Themed Technological Innovations.
The investigation revealed that investors in the company were promised a 40 per cent return in four months, but they never got their money.
Officers allege the investments were converted for the personal use of the accused.
Sixty-four-year-old Ross Alexander of London, 54-year-old Richard Hughes of Kitchener, 49-year-old Peter Snyder of Woodstock, 48-year-old Matthew Sherban of Toronto and 49-year-old Peter Turcaj of Toronto are charged with fraud over $5,000.
An arrest warrant has been issued for one other suspect.
