Former Toronto mayor Rob Ford's medical records were inappropriately accessed by hospital staff for a fourth time, his brother says.

Former Toronto city councillor Doug Ford said Thursday that his older brother Rob’s records were accessed at the University Health Network, the medical research organization consisting of Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto General Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital and the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute.

Staff members at Princess Margaret reported the breach last week, he said.

Calling the compromise "despicable,” Ford added, “There is no such thing as privacy when it comes to the Fords."

Rob Ford was diagnosed with a rare form of soft tissue cancer in September, after which he quit the mayoral race, opting instead to run for city council. He was elected in Ward 2 in the October vote.

Ford was diagnosed at Humber River Regional Hospital, then transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital for treatment.

His medical records were also inappropriately accessed by staff at both facilities in October.

Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act forbids the collection, use or disclosure of health information without consent.
