A 10-kilometre run and ongoing construction projects may cause traffic slowdowns in Toronto this weekend.

Events closures

On Saturday, several roads will be closed for Meagan's Walk, a five-kilometre tour of the city via sidewalk. A section of Elizabeth Street between Gerrard and Elm Streets will be closed from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Sporting Life 10K is happening on Sunday, and several roads will be closed as a result. The City of Toronto warns drivers can expect delays due to the following closures:

  • Yonge Street between Lawrence Avenue and Eglinton Avenue (5 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.)
  • Yonge between Eglinton and Richmond Street (8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.)
  • Richmond between Yonge and Peter Streets (8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.)
  • Peter Street/Blue Jays Way between Richmond and Front Streets (8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.)
  • Front between Blue Jays Way and Bathurst Street (8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.)
  • Bathurst between Front and Fort York Boulevard (8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.)
  • Fort York between Bathurst and Fleet Street (8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.)

Lake Shore Boulevard closures

The westbound right lane of Lake Shore will be occupied at Park Lawn Road for road widening, resurfacing and sidewalk construction.

Major road closures

Northbound and southbound left lanes will be occupied on Park Lawn Road due to road widening, resurfacing and sidewalk construction, overnight every day until June 30.

A map of all planned road restrictions in the city is available online.

TTC closures and diversions

There is no subway service between St. Clair West and Downsview Stations on Saturday and Sunday. Trains on Line 1 will be turning back southbound at St. Clair during the closure.

Replacement buses will be running at track level, and will service the stations between St. Clair and Downsview.

Eglinton West Station is under construction, so buses won't pull into the station, but will stop at the intersection of Bathurst Street and Eglinton Avenue West.
