Students at Sheridan College are being warned about a potential sexual predator on campus.

Police released an updated description of a suspect believed to have been involved in at least five incidents at the Oakville school – at least one of which involved a sexual assault.

In the most recent incident, a woman was walking on the sidewalk on the north side of Sheridan College at around 9 p.m. on Feb. 6 when a man approached her from behind and grabbed her backpack, police said in a news release Tuesday. The woman screamed and struck the suspect with her bag before he fled.

Police say he was wearing a dark-coloured winter ski mask that covered his face along with a dark-coloured hooded winter coat.

Witnesses described the suspect as being between five-foot-four and five-foot-seven, with a slim to medium build.

But police say people should be on the lookout for a bite mark on his hand – an injury he sustained during a sexual assault that happened days earlier on Feb. 4.

There were another three incidents in August and October 2013 that police say they believe are linked to the same suspect.

Police said the suspect appears to be using the trail system around Sheridan College, and urged the public to be aware of their surroundings and call for help immediately if they notice anyone suspicious lurking in the area.

Anyone with information about the incidents or suspect are asked to call Halton police at 905-825-4777 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
