Police are trying to identify a suspect after a TTC bus driver was allegedly threatened with a knife in Scarborough.

On Oct. 21, police said a man was riding a TTC bus near Markham Road and Lawrence Avenue East when he started to become angry and cause a disturbance.

As the TTC bus driver attempted to call his dispatch for assistance, the man allegedly brandished a knife and cut the cord to the dispatch radio.

Police said the man then threatened the driver with the knife before fleeing the bus shortly after.

In an effort to identify a suspect – who police believe to be armed and dangerous – several images of a man have been released by investigators.

The suspect is described as being between 25 and 30 years old, approximately five-foot-six with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a grey hoodie, a black vest, dark grey cargo pants and a black toque with red and white stripes.

Police urge anyone who spots him to call 9-1-1 immediately.

Anyone with information is being asked to call police at 416-808-4300 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
