Police have released a sketch of a man wanted in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl in North York.

In a statement released Tuesday, Toronto Police Service said the girl was walking in the area of Finch Avenue East and Cherokee Boulevard on April 12, between 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Police said a man in a vehicle started a conversation with the girl, before forcing her into his car and driving to an unknown location.

Police said the man then sexually assaulted her. She was later released and contacted police.

The man is described as black with a dark complexion, has a medium-to-large build, a large nose, and a full beard without a moustache. He is between 25- and 35-years-old, and was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, dark blue jeans with a large belt buckle, and brown, low-rise construction boots.

Police say he was driving a light-coloured car or an SUV at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-7474, or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
