Police have released a security surveillance video that shows a 91-year-old year woman being robbed in hopes of finding the male suspect.

In the video, a male suspect is seen approaching an elderly woman who is using a walker as she enters a building in the Spadina Avenue and Oxford Street area on Sept. 28. The man pushes the woman and attempts to grab her purse. He wrestles the purse out of her hands before running out of the lobby.

Days after the incident, the victim, Soo Ching Chew, said in an interview with CTV’s Austin Delaney that she was returning to her seniors building after grabbing a bite to eat when the robber followed her into the lobby.

“I got the key in the hand and he pushed the walker and I cannot open the first door,” she said. “He grabbed my key.”

Chew said her assailant pushed her, which caused her to cut open her lip on her walker. As she bled, Chew said, the robber took off with her keys and purse, which contained $300, a gold watch, wallet and ID.

Chew said that she has not spent a night in her own apartment since Sunday’s incident.

“I’m very scared at nighttime,” she said. “(The suspect) has a key to open the door and maybe come inside.”

Chew had the locks changed on Wednesday, but said she fears her assailant has been calling her home.

“He knows my number,” she said.

The suspect is described as white, between 20- and 25-years-old, with short, black hair. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, blue shorts and carrying a white backpack.
