Police have arrested a Toronto man in connection with a debit card fraud investigation after a search warrant was carried out at the suspect's home.

The suspect was arrested on Wednesday after police carried out a search warrant at his home. Police allege skimming equipment recorded debit card information from several ATM machines at financial institutions throughout Toronto, York and Peel Region between November 2010 and August 2011.

In a press release published in November 2010, police said they learned of the scheme on Nov. 13, 2010 when customers at a financial institution in the Bathurst Street and St. Clair Avenue West area reported that a piece of the bank's ATM machine had become detached, revealing a skimming device and a micro video camera.

Police said Adrian Hayward, 38, has been charged with 61 charges including possess credit card forgery device, unauthorized use of computer, possess computer tampering device, fraudulently traffic credit card data and mischief to property.

He was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
