A suspicious package that prompted the closure of a parking lot in Mississauga overnight turned out to be a piece of tightly-wrapped fish.
The package, which turned out to be a piece of cod in a double bag, was found in the garbage at the Rockwood Mall parking lot, at Dixie Road near Burnhamthorpe Road East, late Tuesday evening.
Peel Regional Police closed the parking lot and called for a bomb disposal unit as part of the investigation.
A robot was deployed to investigate the package, which uncovered the innocuous, although odorous, circumstances.
