Police say a bizarre series of events in which "everything seems to have gone wrong" led to the deaths of a couple in northeastern Ontario.
Michelle Fryer, the 41-year old sister of Amherstburg councillor Rick Fryer, and her boyfriend, 34 year old Daniel Dube, were found dead in their SUV near Field on Monday.
They'd driven onto a trail Saturday night and become stuck in deep mud.
Police say that rather than use their cellphones to call for help, the two decided to spend night in the vehicle -- and left the motor running.
They kept two windows open, but police say carbon monoxide seeped into the SUV through a hole in the floor and killed them.
