TORONTO - The man at the centre of the Maple Leaf Gardens sex abuse scandal is facing 11 new charges of assaults on young boys as more alleged victims have come forward.

Gordon Stuckless is now facing a total of 45 historical charges since several men have alleged in the past few months that they were abused decades ago.

Toronto Police say Stuckless was a teacher and volunteered at local sports clubs in the 1960s and 1970s.

Police allege Stuckless would befriend boys between eight and 12 years old and sexually assault them at various locations around Toronto and north of the city.

Stuckless is due back in court May 3.

The 63-year-old was convicted in 1997 for sex assaults on 24 boys while he was an usher at Toronto's Maple Leaf Gardens between 1969 and 1988.
