CHATHAM, Ont. - A Toronto woman has been charged with racing after police allege she was speeding on Highway 401 with four children in her car.

Provincial police say an officer clocked a car doing 157 kilometres per hour in a 100 km/h zone Monday near Chatham.

Police say there were four children inside the car, but three of them were not in proper car seats -- and two of the kids were sharing a seatbelt.

A 28-year-old woman is facing several charges, including racing a motor vehicle, failing to ensure a todder and children were properly secured and having more passengers than allowed by a Class G2 licence.

Racing legislation calls for drivers to lose their licence and vehicle for seven days, and a minimum fine of $2,000.
