Two collisions on the Niagara-bound QEW, one of them involving a bus and a Jeep, sent at least three people to hospital Saturday.

OPP Cst. Graham Williamson says there were two separate collisions around 10 a.m. Saturday on the Fort Erie-bound QEW, just before the Burlington Skyway bridge.

In the first crash, a coach bus with 27 passengers aboard collided with a Jeep SUV and a second vehicle.

The 40-year-old bus driver, from Brampton, was taken to Hamilton hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 45-year-old male driver of the Jeep and his 45-year-old female passenger, both of Grand Valley, Ont., were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No passengers from the bus needed to be taken to hospital. They later boarded another bus and continued on to their destination.

The second crash involved more than one vehicle, and resulted in minor damage and no injuries.

The two centre lanes of the Niagara-bound QEW were blocked Saturday morning, but all lanes reopened just after 12:30 p.m., according to the OPP.
