Police are looking for a suspect after a series of sex assaults early Friday in which a man wearing a face mask broke into women’s homes while they slept and assaulted them.

Police said at least three women were targeted in the city’s west end between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Friday.

In the first attack, a 62-year-old woman was sleeping in her home near Bloor Street West and Islington Avenue at 3:10 a.m. when a man broke into her home and sexually assaulted her, police said.

A short time later, police said a man broke into a home near Royal York Road and Norseman Street around 3:30 a.m. A 49-year-old woman in that home was awake and the man fled.

A third break-in occurred near Royal York Road and The Queensway Avenue around 3:40 a.m. A man broke into a 70-year-old woman’s home and sexually assaulted her before fleeing.

Police said they are looking for a suspect who is described as being tanned, or having a darker complexion. He is between 20 and 25 years old.

He was last seen wearing dark-coloured clothing and a white covering over his head, which covered his face but exposed his eyes, police said.
