Toronto police are investing a shooting after a man was injured in a hail of gunshots fired at a car in the east-end of the city late Saturday night.

Police said the 22-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to the leg and abdomen and was taken to hospital. He is in stable condition, police told CTV Toronto.ca on Sunday. Two other people who were with the victim at the time were not injured.

Police said the incident happened in the parking lot of a Shell gas station in the Markham and Ellesmere Roads area shortly after 11:30 p.m., when a male suspect on foot opened fire, unleashing more then 20 rounds on the vehicle.

Police did not have a description of the suspect, but said they are looking for two male suspects in connection to the shooting.

Police said they are talking to witnesses and reviewing video tapes.
