Two bullets were fired into the home of one of the men charged in the Danzig Street shooting investigation, just two-and-a-half hours after the July 16 shooting that killed two people and injured 23 others.

CTV Toronto’s crime reporter Tamara Cherry has learned that police responded to reports of gunshots on Malvern Street on July 16, at the home where Shaquan Mesquito, 18, lives.

Two bullets had gone through the front window.

On Wednesday, Cherry reported that Mesquito faces charges of uttering threats on the day of the shooting.

Sources say Mesquito is known on the street as “Bam Bam.”

Mesquito is also facing multiple gun charges.

Police have been to Mesquitos’ home many times before and after the July 16 shooting, neighbours said.

“We don't know what's going on and nobody wants to find out,” said neighbour Mohamed Jaffar.

This includes a visit to the Malvern Street home to respond to another report of gunshots two years ago.

Mesquito appeared in court Wednesday.

The other suspect who has been charged as part of the Danzig Street shooting investigation also appeared in court Wednesday.

Nahom Tsegazab, 19, is charged with reckless discharge of a firearm.

Police investigators allege that Tsegazab was the intended target of the shooting.

Police have yet to lay any charges directly related to the two people who were killed and the 23 others who were injured during the shooting on July 16, which happened during a community barbeque.

Police are still asking members of the public to come forward with information about the shooting.
