A man has been rushed to hospital with critical injuries after a shooting in the downtown core Sunday night.

It happened near Yonge and Wellington streets at around 9 p.m.

Toronto police said people were seen fleeing a restaurant after shots rang out. Officers came to the scene and found a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in an underground parking garage.

Toronto Paramedic Services said they transported the victim, believed to be a man in his 30s, to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Toronto police said they are looking for three suspects armed with guns who were seen fleeing the area westbound on Wellington in a small black car.

Police have shut down Wellington Street between Bay and Yonge Street as they investigate.
