A man who was found injured in a bus shelter at Victoria Park Avenue and Clydesdale Drive early Tuesday morning died in hospital overnight.

The man, believed to be in his 40s or 50s, was found on the ground of the bus shelter and was taken to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Toronto Emergency Medical Services (EMS) say the middle-aged man may have been assaulted before he was found.

They said they received a call about a shooting, but there was no evidence that the man had been shot.

Police closed the intersection where he was found for an investigation until shortly after 9 a.m.

A suspect is in custody, but police have not provided any further details.
