One man was arrested and a high-powered rifle was seized after an early-morning raid by Toronto's guns and gangs unit on Tuesday.

Heavily armed officers stormed into a west-end apartment building on Waterton Road, near Lawrence Avenue West and Scarlett Road.

Police searched the unit and found the firearm. A 19-year-old man was taken into custody.

Meanwhile, officers are looking for several suspects after six shots were fired on a street in North York on Monday night.

The bullets flew on San Romanoway, near Jane Street and Finch Avenue, at about 7:30 p.m.

Two men in their early 20s were seen running towards Yorkgate Mall after the incident.

Less than 30 minutes later, police said a loaded handgun was found in the schoolyard of a nearby junior school on Wilmont Drive.
