A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with a west-end Toronto sexual assault.

The assault occurred in the area of Kipling Avenue and Birmingham Street, at approximately 5:30 am. on Sunday, Sept. 27.

Toronto Police Acting Insp. Joanne Rudnick said a 19-year-old woman was waiting for a bus when she was grabbed from behind by an unknown man.

She was pulled into an alley and sexually assaulted, but managed to break free partway through the assault. The man fled the area, police said Thursday.

Forensic evidence from the scene was analyzed and a suspect was identified last week, Rudnick said.

As a result of the investigation, 30-year-old Temitope Michael Olusoga was arrested on Nov. 6.

The Toronto resident has been charged with sexual assault and uttering threats, Rudnick said.
