Crown prosecutors presented recovered text messages and online chats in court Monday as evidence against a teenaged murder suspect accused of killing 14-year-old Stefanie Rengel.

The suspect, who can only be identified as MT because she was a minor at the time the murder took place, is being accused of pressuring her boyfriend to kill Rengel because of a long-time rift between the girls. She is charged with first-degree murder.

Her boyfriend, who can only be identified as DB, is also facing a first-degree murder charge. His trial will begin later this year.

The jury was presented with printed copies of dozens of chats that show MT talking to her friends about wanting Rengel killed and asking her boyfriend to do the job, threatening to break up with him and to withhold sex if he doesn't do as she asks.

According to documents, in one chat that occurred in May 2007, MT talks about killing the girl with DB.

MT: We'd both go to jail...lol (laugh out loud)...cuz I killed someone and you woulda helped.

DB: I "FORCED" you to do it, ok? Just go along with that story. Ok? U have a life ahead of you. I don't. I'm nothing. I'm worthless."

A printed copy of a December 2007 chat revealed MT talked to a friend about the plan.

MT: I'm getting someone killed lol

Friend: ?

MT: I just don't like someone...so I want them dead.

Friend: really killed?

MT: Dead in a coffin.

Rengel was killed on New Year's Day in 2008. Her brother testified last week that Rengel got a phone call and left the house to meet with DB. She was later found bleeding from multiple stab wounds on a snow bank steps from her home.

That day, MT chatted about the murder with a friend online but said she didn't have anything to do with it.

Her friend told MT that people would tell the police that she told DB to kill Rengel, but MT replied, "actually her bf is the suspect lol. I just read the article on CP24.com...I never did anything and neither did DB...we (had sex) tonight lol."

The jury also a saw a taped video of police interviewing the girl. The teen, sitting close to her mother, told police DB told her he was going to kill Rengel but that she was only joking when she asked him to.

The detective asked her why DB would want to kill Rengel.

MT responded, "Because if Stefanie was gone, then maybe our problems would stop."

The trial continues Tuesday.
