A serious accident north of Barrie sent six people to hospital Sunday.

Six ambulances were called to the scene in Severn Township after three cars collided, according to the Ontario Provincial Police. An air ambulance was also called in but couldn't land because of the weather.

Though none of the passengers suffered life-threatening injuries, they were all sent to Orillia's Soldier Memorial Hospital.

Tow trucks finally removed the cars just after 2 p.m.

The foggy, wet weather might have played a role in the crash, police said.
