TORONTO - A soggy pitch at BMO Field has forced the postponement of the Nutrilite Canadian Championship final between Toronto FC and the visiting Vancouver Whitecaps.

The game will be replayed in its entirety Saturday, July 2 at 12:30 p.m. ET.

The Whitecaps led 1-0 last night in the two-game, total goals final before a lightning storm and torrential rain forced the game to be abandoned in the 60th minute.

Canadian Soccer Association officials had hoped to play the game this morning but after inspecting the field deemed it unplayable.

The Whitecaps looked poised to win the Voyageurs Cup after a goal by Eric Hassli gave them the lead, but the game was suspended once at halftime for 45 minutes, and then again in the 60th minute.

The second suspension lasted more than an hour before officials walked out to inspect the water-logged field and ruled it unplayable.

The two teams played to a 1-1 draw in Game 1 of the series last week in Vancouver.
