The young boy allegedly murdered last week in Oshawa will have his funeral on Saturday.
Family and friends will say goodbye to the 2�-year-old at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Oshawa funeral home, located at 847 King St. W.
A visitation will be held Thursday evening, starting at 7 p.m.
On Jan. 5, police and ambulance were called to an Oshawa basement apartment where the boy lived with his mother. A male was at the home, with the mother at work.
The boy was taken to Lakeridge Health, but he was pronounced dead.
Durham Regional Police charged a 26-year-old man, reportedly a new boyfriend of the mother, on Friday with second-degree murder. The man's lawyer obtained a publication ban that prevents the media from identifying either the accused or the victim.
The man remained in custody over the weekend. He will make a court appearance via video link on Wednesday.
