A fifth suspect has been charged in connection to a fatal home invasion in Markham last year.

York Regional Police homicide investigators arrested Lenford Roy Crawford, 28, of Brampton, on Wednesday, and charged him with first-degree murder, attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

On November 8, 2010, at about 10:30 p.m., York Regional Police responded to a home on Helen Avenue, after receiving a call reporting a home invasion.

Once at the home, police discovered Bieh Ha Pan, 53, of Markham, who had succumbed to her injuries inside the residence.

They also found Hann Pan, 57, with serious injuries.

He continues to recover in an undisclosed location.

The couple's daughter, 24-year-old Jennifer Pan, was charged with murder and attempted murder.

Subsequent arrests include David Mylvaganam, 22, of Toronto; Eric Carty, 30, of no fixed address; and Daniel Chi-Kwong Wong, 25, of Ajax.

The investigation continues, and police say further arrests are anticipated.

Jennifer Pan is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket on May 9.
