Traffic on the Don Valley Parkway is flowing again after a dump truck rollover shut down a section of the busy north-south artery Tuesday afternoon.

Police say the truck was travelling north at approximately 1:30 p.m. when it hit the median and flipped onto its side, sending debris flying into the southbound lanes.

The DVP was temporarily closed in both directions, between Don Mills Road and Eglinton Avenue, as police cleaned up and investigated the crash.

Traffic on the northbound lanes, north of Don Mills, was reopened shortly after 6 p.m. The southbound lanes remained opened shortly after, at approximately 6:30 p.m.

A person believed to be the driver of the truck has been extricated by paramedics. He has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries
