TORONTO - A 19-year-old man charged with allegedly sexually assaulting two children at a day care where he volunteered is now facing additional charges.

Paul Thomas of Toronto was arrested last Saturday and charged with two counts of sexual assault and interference for allegedly assaulting two children at the City of Toronto Blevins Child Care Centre between April 2006 and 2007.

On Friday, Toronto Police said they believe that there may be an additional victim.

Thomas is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

Children's Services said in a release Friday that staff, students on placement, and formal volunteers undergo criminal background checks before they are permitted to interact with children.

Thomas did not have a prior criminal record.

The City of Toronto is conducting its own internal review to ensure policies were followed.
