Police are on the hunt for a sexual predator after a woman reported a man broke into her home and assaulted her in the middle of the night.

The woman told police she was asleep when a suspect allegedly broke into her North York home through an exterior door at around 4 a.m. Sunday.

He fled from the home, running through the backyard towards Jane Street after allegedly sexually assaulting her.

Police are warning women to be aware of their surroundings and to keep all entry points in their homes locked and secured.
