HALTON HILLS, Ont. -- Police northwest of Toronto say a call from a terrified homeowner led them to arrest an intruder.

Police say the homeowner made the call while hiding in a closet during a break-in Monday morning.

They say officers were able to arrest the suspect as he left the Halton Hills home empty-handed.

Police say they seized break-and-enter instruments and 2.5g of crack cocaine.

Fifty-year-old Carlos Harper of Toronto is charged with break and enter, possession of break-in instruments and drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.
