TORONTO - The lawyer for the boy accused of killing a York region police officer says the youth has no use of his limbs.

Lawyer David Berg says he has not seen an official medical report on the 15-year-old accused's injuries.

But in two visits to the teen's bedside this week, Berg says the boy was unable to move his arms and legs.

In addition, he says the teen was unable to speak at an audio remand on Thursday because of the tubes in his throat.

Berg also says the family is expressing deep sadness at the death of Const. Garrett Styles, who died June 28 after being pinned under a minivan the teen was allegedly driving.

The youth, who was injured in the incident that fatally wounded Styles, is charged with first-degree murder in the death.
