The suspect in a late November hit-and-run homicide in the Entertainment District has been arrested, Toronto police said Tuesday.

"Naveen Ariaratnam, 26, arrived in Toronto on a 12:15 p.m. flight from Sri Lanka. He was arrested at Pearson International Airport," they said in a news release.

He had been sought since a Nov. 27 incident on Wellington St.

An altercation took place at the Rockwood Club, located at 31 Mercer St. It continued on the street.

Someone drove a vehicle described as a dark-grey, full-sized SUV eastbound on Wellington St. before allegedly making a U-turn and then driving straight at Vincent Dang, 20, who was on the north sidewalk with his friend.

The vehicle was last seen heading south on Blue Jays Way.

Dang, of Concord, Ont., was pronounced dead in hospital about an hour after the vehicle struck him. He is Toronto’s 57th homicide victim of 2010.

Ariaratnam, of no fixed address, faces a charge of second-degree murder in connection with Dang's death.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.

No allegations against Ariaratnam have been proven in a court of law.
