TORONTO - Seven people from the Greater Toronto Area and two from Jamaica face charges in a drug investigation centred on Pearson International Airport.

The RCMP says investigators worked with U.S. Homeland Security and Jamaican police in an operation that began in February.

It's alleged that a variety of drugs -- including ecstasy, hashish and khat -- flowed in and out of the airport on chartered airlines.

And police allege airport employees used their jobs as baggage handlers to facilitate the movement of the drugs.

The nine suspects -- including a Jamaican police officer -- face charges of conspiracy, importation and exportation of controlled substances.

Warrants have been issued for two Toronto men.
