A 30-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder after a man was found dead in a Scarborough home Saturday.

Police responded to an emergency call at a residence near the intersection of Pharmacy Avenue and St. Clair Avenue shortly after 1 p.m.

There, officers found a man with “obvious signs of trauma.” He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Shafaq Joya, 30, of Toronto was arrested on Sunday, police said. He has been charged with second-degree murder.

Joya is set to appear in court on Monday.
