A Mississauga man was stabbed several times after answering a knock at his door on Friday night.

The 29-year-old was attacked just after 10 p.m. at his home on Glen Erin Drive, near Highway 401 and Winston Churchill Drive.

Peel Regional Police said after answering a knock at his door, the victim was stabbed in the back, arm and thigh.

Investigators said the victim was targeted, but a motive has not been released.

The attacker took a number of items from the home, including wallets and personal identification, before fleeing the scene, police said.

The man's injuries are not life threatening.
