There's a possibility that the Ford dynasty in Toronto's Ward 2 may continue, even though Coun. Doug Ford has said he is not running for re-election this fall.

Michael Ford, the nephew of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, officially filed his paperwork on Friday to run for council in the Etobicoke-North seat. It is currently held by Ford's older brother, Doug Ford, who has said he is not throwing his hat in the municipal ring this year. Instead, he is working as Ford's campaign manager in his bid to become re-elected as mayor.

Doug Ford was elected as Etobicoke North's representative in 2010. He succeeded his brother as councillor for that ward.

Michael is the son of Kathy Ford. He is joining a crowded field of Ward 2 council hopefuls that includes 10 other declared candidates. According to his Facebook page, he is an account executive at the Ford's family business Deco Labels and Tags.

He has also worked as at a sports camp for youth in Haliburton, Ont., and graduated from Richview Collegiate Institute in 2010. According to his LinkedIn profile, he is currently a student at Humber College and expects to graduate in 2016.
