TORONTO - Toronto Mayor Rob Ford called 911 after being ambushed by a crew with CBC's "This Hour Has 22 Minutes."

The crew showed up at Ford's home early Monday to film a segment for Tuesday's episode and caught him coming out of the house with his daughter.

Ford says it was dark outside when the crew ran towards him and frightened his daughter.

The mayor says the crew tried to stop him from closing his car door so he went back inside his house and called police.

The CBC says correspondent Mary Walsh wanted to offer some advice on Ford's "sinking polls."

Ford says the crew should call him next time and meet him at City Hall, not at his home.

"I'm open to games and I have no problem," Ford says. "But when you come to my private house early in the morning and ambush me, I think that crosses the line."

The crew also approached the mayor's brother, Coun. Doug Ford, outside City Hall on Monday.
