Emergency crews are on the scene following a massive multiple-vehicle rush-hour crash in Mississauga.
Peel police Const. George Tudos said a black sport utility vehicle crashed into more than a dozen other vehicles before hitting a hydro pole on Dundas Street near Hurontario Street.
Six patients, including the female driver of the SUV, have been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, a spokesperson with Peel Regional Paramedic Services says.
Several other people are being assessed by emergency personnel at the scene.
“This is going to be a big cleanup,” Tudos said.
Dundas Street is currently closed east of Hurontario Street as police and emergency workers survey the scene.
The closure is expected to last several hours.
