TORONTO - The Florida Marlins have taken yet another interleague series from the Toronto Blue Jays after winning 6-5 Saturday to take the first two games of the three-game set.

The Blue Jays wasted four hits from right-fielder Alex Rios that included a two-run home run in front of a Rogers Centre crowd of 20,634.

The Marlins previously visited Toronto in 2001 and won two of three games. The last time the teams met was in 2006 and the Marlins swept a three-game series in Miami.

The Marlins are 16-4 against the Blue Jays overall and 9-2 in Toronto since interleague play began in 1997. Marlins starter, left-hander Sean West, 2-1, allowed four hits, including two home runs, four walks and four runs in 5 2/3 innings as he let the Blue Jays cut away at leads of 5-0 and 6-2 in gaining the win.

Matt Lindstrom pitched the ninth for his 12th save despite giving up a leadoff single to pinch-hitter Rod Barajas.

Toronto starter Casey Janssen, 2-3, allowed eight hits, including two home runs, and five runs in 3 2/3 innings to take the loss. Sean Camp pitched the next three innings and allowed one run on two hits. Janssen was done in by a pair of two-run home runs, by Jeremy Hermida -- his eighth of the season -- in the third, and Cody Ross -- his 10th -- in the fourth that followed a leadoff walk to John Baker.

Ross's previous two home runs had been grand slams Friday night to end a 2-2 tie, and June 2 against the Milwaukee Brewers. His other grand slam this season came May 17 against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Janssen who also allowed a first-inning run on a double by leadoff hitter Chris Coghlan and another by Hanley Ramirez.

Janssen was removed from the game in favour of Camp after Ross Gload's two-out double in the fourth. He allowed eight hits, one walk and five runs.

The Blue Jays came back with a two-run home run of their own with one out in the bottom of the fourth by Rios, his eighth of the season, on a first-pitch fastball delivered by West.

The Marlins went ahead 6-2 in the sixth, started by Ross's third hit and second double of the game. Wes Helms singled him to third and he scored when Coghlan hit into a double play.

The Blue Jays countered with another two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth, this time by Lyle Overbay, his eighth of the season. It followed a two-out single by Rios, his third hit of the day. West was removed for Brian Sanches.

The Blue Jays rallied again in the seventh with one-out walks by Marco Scutaro and Aaron Hill. The struggling Wells did the predictable and chased a first-pitch changeup that he grounded to third baseman Wes Helms who threw wildly in an attempted force at second. Scutaro scored.

But relievers Dan Meyer and Leo Nunez finished off the inning to hold the Marlins' lead at 6-5.

Rios led off the eighth with his fourth hit of the game, a single, and stole second. But he was caught trying to steal third for the second out of the inning, snuffing a possible rally.

NOTES: By hitting his third grand slam of the season in Friday's 7-3 victory over the Blue Jays, Ross tied the club record for a season held by Bobby Bonilla (1997) and Jeff Conine (2004). With three grand slams this year, Ross has more than 13 teams in the National League more than nine teams in the American League. Two other AL teams have three slams. Ross has five career grand slams, one with the Detroit Tigers and the other with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The series ends Sunday with Josh Johnson (5-1, 2.73 earned-run average) starting for Florida against Toronto left-hander Brian Tallet (4-3, 4.12 ERA).
