Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp.'s pursuit of a casino complex in the GTA has suffered another setback.

In a 9-4 vote Tuesday night, Markham city council rejected a motion to reopen the debate over a proposed casino, a week after Toronto said no to a gaming complex.

Vaughan council members were also debating the issue Tuesday night.

At a special meeting May 21, Toronto city council voted 40-4 against the construction of a new casino and 24-20 against the expansion of gaming operations at Woodbine Racetrack.
