A man who was found seriously injured on a Scarborough road early Monday morning may have been vehicle surfing on the back of a TTC bus.

Toronto Police Services say the 32-year-old man was found in the Eglinton Avenue and Markham Road area shortly before 2 a.m. He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Const. Hugh Smith said the alleged vehicle-surfing incident happened between 1:30 a.m. and 1:45 a.m. Smith said he apparently fell from the back of the TTC bus and suffered serious injuries. The bus involved in the incident has since been located. Police say the TTC driver was not aware that someone was on his vehicle at the time of the incident. No charges have been laid at this time.

Eglinton Avenue was temporarily closed west of Markham Road while police investigated the incident.
