Homicide detectives in York region say they are looking to speak with a man they believe has information on a murder that took place earlier this year.

Investigators say they have been unable to locate 21-year-old Bryan Gardner, a Scarborough resident, despite speaking to his family and friends. He is also known by his street name "Weezy."

They have publicly released his picture in hopes someone will come forward with information about his whereabouts.

They say they want to speak with the man about the shooting death of Chun Kit (Daniel) Cheong, a 26-year-old Toronto man who was gunned down at the Pacific Mall back in February.

Cheong was at a cellphone store inside the Steeles Avenue mall on February 20 when he was shot in the head at around 8:45 p.m. Emergency personnel rushed the man to hospital but he died of his injuries.

Witnesses told authorities they say two people running northwest through the mall.

Police say a male suspect in the shooting is described as having brown or black skin, a thin build and some facial hair. He is about six-feet tall and was wearing a grey, hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and dark-coloured pants.
