A 26-year-old man was shot to death outside a Brampton nightclub early Monday morning.

The violence erupted just after 2 a.m. outside the Trilogy nightclub on Kennedy Road. The parking lot was packed at the time of the shooting, police say.

Authorities cordoned off the crime scene and immediately began interviewing patrons of the club. Investigators are now looking for a small, white vehicle and a green SUV spotted speeding away from the parking lot before police arrived.

Police believe the victim was targeted in the shooting but investigators are still trying to figure out the motive. They're also investigating whether the shooting is connected to local street gang activity.

The victim has been identified as Andre Alexander Harrisingh of Malton. He is Peel Region's fourth homicide of the year.
