TORONTO -- A 22-year-old shooting victim was rushed to hospital after being found by passersby in the Eglinton West area Monday night.

Police were called to the area of Eglinton Avenue West and Dufferin Street at around 9:50 p.m.

According to police, passersby came across the man lying in the street. He told them that he had been shot and asked them to call police.

Police said they are still trying to locate the scene of the shooting.  

Toronto Paramedic Services said they transported the man to a trauma centre in serious but stable condition. Police said the man was shot in the upper arm.

There is no information about suspects so far.
