A man is in hospital after apparently trying to castrate himself in Markham Wednesday afternoon.
York Regional Police responded to a call at a home on Neeland Road, in the Brimley and Highglen roads area sometime around 3 p.m.
At the home, police discovered a man, believed to be in his 30s, suffering from a self-inflicted injury. He was rushed to hospital.
While police would only confirm that the man’s injury involved the removal of a body part, a source told CP24 that he was discovered in a bathroom by his sister after trying to castrate himself.
Police said they don’t believe it was a suicide attempt.
